1. Not too many things.
Kitchen appliance, dining, cookware, etc are used with increasing frequency since the 1st lockdown, and here comes again the 2nd lockdown.
We get used to shopping online and it is really easy to over shop or to meet the free delivery threshold. If we have no idea about how to declutter things, the result will be that too many things would make our cleaning process really difficult.
Try to keep the things that you use daily on the table and put those not used frequently in the cupboard. I know this is not for everyone, but the more things you can put away unseen, the better. If you don’t have room in your cupboards, throw out, donate, or sell things that you never use.
2. Clear the kitchen table and bench as soon as you can.
According to the Australia Department of Health, cleaning the kitchen can help stop the spread of germs and viruses. The cleaning tasks (jobs) which should be done in the kitchen include: washing the dishes; cleaning down the kitchen bench and tabletop; emptying and washing the kitchen rubbish bin; sweeping and/or washing (mopping) the floor; wiping the shelves and cleaning the cupboards, inside and out; cleaning the stove and oven; cleaning out the refrigerator; cleaning the walls, windows and brushing flyscreens.
3. Put everything in the right place.
First, you need to have a place for everything. Instead of having things scattered here and there about your kitchen, it’s much better to have similar things all in one spot. And after using it, put it back as soon as possible. Once you develop this habit, you will find it unbelievably helpful.
